The NFL Draft is my Oscars.
My peers get all jacked up about the Academy Awards and the Grammys, and I will watch them if my husband falls asleep in the chair, but honestly, if it didn’t give me something to write about for MamaPop, I would probably never even turn on the awards shows. It isn’t like I’ve seen any of the movies or heard any of Taylor Swift’s music.
No, my friends. I get excited about the NFL Draft.
My husband makes fun of me. He says, “It is fun for five minutes and then it is a lot of waiting.”
I don’t care. I love it.
I love the banter, the talk of upsides. I love watching those huge kids starting their careers. I love the looks on their faces. I especially love their clothes.
I love Draft Day Suits. I love them so much I named an entire blog after them.
Granted, the NFL Draft Day Suits don’t quite hold a candle to the ones that the kids pull out for the NBA:

but still.
These kids are looking good this year.
I’m not going to even attempt to do any draft analysis in this post. I’ll leave the first round stuff up to one of my Broncos fans (waves at Headless Mom).
Heh.
Seriously Denver? Did Al Davis slip something into your water? You folks were acting all crazy that first night.
And what of the floor show?

Brandon Graham, DE, Philadelphia Eagles

Where did C.J. Spiller even get a tie that color?

Ohhhhkaaaay

What? I didn't say a word about your shirt Mr. Suh.
See?
Yes, I know that not all of these kids will make it in the NFL, but some of them will be superstars. For now I just like watching them get dressed up and getting so excited that they hug Roger Goodell.
