Paolo Maldini retired his cleats last season, at the age of 40. And now the former AC Milan soccer legend is transitioning into the fashion business.

Maldini has invested in designer Liam Gallagher's "Pretty Green" clothing line. The menswear line is entirely "limited edition" and features a wide variety of denim, footwear, apparel and accessories.

Gallagher is a former Oasis band member and to Maldini, he's also a true style icon. Here's what Paolo had to say: "Liam has been a style icon for years and he is a distinctive kind of guy as well. Icons in sport or music always influence fashion, you only need to look at David Beckham." [The Sun]

Paolo's right about Becks, who has no doubt developed into the ultimate "fashionisto," especially among male athletes. We'll see if Gallagher, as a musician, can have the same effect.

Beckham back to Manchester
Great news that David Beckham is going back to Manchester United to play against his old club. Personally, I can't wait to see Becks on the field in an AC Milan shirt scoring a goal against Fergie's team. Some of the online sports sites listed at www.dozensports.com say that if Becks plays he will be booed by some, but I think he is still one of the best players England has ever produced.
