Ralph Lauren and Vera Wang will be in good company come February 12th, as top designers Rodarte and DSquared2 have hopped on the designing bandwagon for the upcoming Winter Games in Vancouver. The Olympic creations from these duos will certainly add some excitement to this world-wide fashion runway.

The sisters behind the Rodarte brand, often known for its whimsical fashions, will be outfitting several U.S. athletes including figure skater, Johnny Weir. When asked about their design process, a brand rep explained “We built the looks knowing that the athletes needed to be able to keep the same range of motion in our clothing as they have in their normal uniform.” [WWD]

From sisters to brothers. DSquared2 twins, Dean and Dan Canten, will also be getting in on the action by designing opening ceremony outfits. These guys are the perfect choice, as they are already known for their over-the-top runway shows. And they've also got some experience under their belts when it comes to designing for major sporting events. They previously designed the official uniforms for the Italian soccer team Juventus.

As a nod to their Canadian roots, the guys will also take part in the running of the Olympic torch and they have even designed a limited edition Olympic hoodie, which will be sold at select Holt Renfrew stores. The cost: a whopping $330!
