Just in time for the start of the 2010 baseball season, Boston Red Sox second baseman, Dustin Pedroia, has signed a multiyear endorsement deal with New Balance. The Boston-based company will serve as Pedroia’s official footwear and off-field apparel provider.
Pedroia will be sporting a special New Balance 1101 baseball spike this season, including a version in his signature camouflage colors.
According to the press release, Pedroia says, “I have always been a fan of New Balance shoes for their great fit and comfort. They are the last company that still makes shoes in the United States and that really impressed me.”
In addition to wearing New Balance gear both on and off the field, Pedroia will work with the brand to help support their sponsorship of The Run to Home Base 9K to benefit the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program. The Run to Home Base provides needed services to local veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
