The much anticipated 2010 Masters Golf Tournament ended last night with a heartwarming victory for Phil Mickelson and his family. The final day of play was as exciting as fans could've hoped for, so much so that it had the third highest TV rating ever for final round Masters coverage. It's safe to say that Tiger's return certainly played a large role, as the week was never without talk of his scandal.
But drama and excitement aside, golf is a still game with a lot of lag time leaving spectators such as A Glam Slam, plenty of opportunities to focus on the fairway fashions. And our favorite golfers spend more time than you’d think preparing their Masters attire.
A Glam Slam took at look at the fashion statements made on the green during the final round of the 2010 Masters. Let's break it down:
Best Bling: Anthony Kim's Belt Buckle
Anthony Kim sported a belt buckle that we would expect to see in a rap video rather than on a golf course. The flashy buckle featured Kim's initials among a rhinestone studded background. Due to this bold fashion statement, fans had a tough time taking their eyes off the bling and concentrating on Kim's game.
Most Popular Trend: Men in Black
It was quite a departure from the pastel colors we're used to seeing on the green, as many of the guys opted for sleek, all black looks during final round play. Phil Mickelson, K.J. Choi, Sergio Garcia and Charl Schwartzel were just some of the golfers who chose to steer clear of color and sport this basic hue instead.
Most Original: Ryan Moore
Ryan Moore sported some untraditional golf attire and he definitely stood out in doing so. His bright green tie complimented the green Scratch Golf logo on his white hat. And he paired these pieces with a dress shirt and black sweater cardigan for an old-fashioned, but cool look.
Best Use of Plaid: Ian Poulter
It wouldn't be a golf tournament without some plaid, right? And Ian Poulter rocked some very loud purple and pink plaid pants. While the pattern is better left in small doses, Poulter somehow manages to continuously pull off this look. The Enlishman's got a successful fashion line, so he must be doing something right. Check that out here.
Best Dressed: Tiger Woods
It can't get much better than Tiger's signature red Nike polo and black pants combo, always worn in his final round of play. While it never comes as a surprise, this classic look just doesn't get old.
Best Accessory: The Green Jacket
The tradition began in 1946 and the "Green Jacket" still remains as one of the most iconic pieces of clothing in sports. With it's shamrock green coloring, it's hardly the most fashionable item out there. But slipping into that jacket symbolizes a golfer's entry to into club of Master's champions easily making it the best accessory.
