When it comes to everyday fashion choices, baseball players have it easy. They can throw on their home, away or alternate jerseys and call it a day. But some of your favorite MLB players have decided to explore the fashion world and put their design skills to the test.

During a press conference yesterday, the New York Yankees unveiled the Players Choice Signature Series collection of jerseys, tees and hats designed by players exclusively for their fans. Participating Yankees included Andy Pettitte, C.C. Sabathia, Nick Swisher, Mark Teixeira, Curtis Granderson and Joba Chamberlain, who all incorporated their personal style into each unique design.

Most items pay homage to New York City, featuring characteristics such as the city skyline, Statue of Liberty and Yankee Stadium. These are complemented by personal touches including players' nicknames, tattoo recreations and hobbies. Andy Pettittes' jersey even features the famed "Pettitte stare," already proving to be a fan favorite.

The collection is a far cry from the simple and classic Yankee pinstripes that fans have grown to love. But to have the players take part in a 2-month design process to get these pieces just right, makes this fan gear pretty special. Here's a look at some of the pieces they created:

All of the merchandise was designed and released with the assistance of the MLBPA, VF/Majestic and Twins/Banner 47. Items are available beginning today, at MLB.com, Yankee Stadium stores and Modell's stores.

And the Yankees aren't the only team to get in on the design action. Players from the New York Mets (Jason Bay, Jeff Francouer, Johan Santana and Jose Reyes), Philadelphia Phillies (Cole Hamels, Raul Ibanez, Jimmy Rollins, Shane Victorino and Jayson Werth) and Minnesota Twins (J.J. Hardy, Justin Morneau, Joe Nathan, Nick Punto and Kevin Slowey) also took part in the Players Choice Signature Series collection.
