The 2010 NBA Finals featured one of the greatest rivalries in sports – the Boston Celtics vs. the Los Angeles Lakers. And the rivalry did not disappoint. To cap off an exciting series, the Lakers won the title in a game 7 thriller.
It was a hard fought, physical battle from start to finish. And just when it looked like the Celtics were pulling away with a 13-point lead in the second half, Kobe, Gasol and the Lakers fought back. For Bryant, the finals MVP, it was not only his 5th championship ring but this was the franchise’s first game 7 victory in the finals against the rival Celtics. To sum it up: Kobe is now the greatest Los Angeles Laker of all time, Phil Jackson has won his 11th championship matching Boston great, Bill Russell, the Lakers won their 2nd consecutive NBA title and Ron Artest thanked his psychologist.
