The age old complaint "I have nothing to wear" can apply to fan gear as much as everyday attire. Especially for women. For quite a while, options for the ladies come gametime were limited to oversized mens' team jerseys or baby pink apparel. Both less than favorable style selections.

Luckily, more and more companies have begun to realize the importance of female sports fans. Alyssa Milano's TOUCH Line and VS Pink's MLB and NFL licensed collections are among the fashion-forward options now offered to women.

But the New Orleans Saints have taken it one step further. Following their Super Bowl win, the team is capitalizing on the fact that their gear is among the top-selling at NFLShop.com. They are also recognizing that women account for 50% of their fan base. As a result, the league has announced plans to open up a temporary boutique dedicated to female fan gear. From Aug. 21st to Sept. 18th, the very first "NFL Shop For Women" will open its doors at 3932 Magazine Street in New Orleans. [NOLA.com]

The new shop will offer way more than the typical team jerseys and tees. Jeans, flip-flops, maternity wear, jewelry, scarves and manicure kits are among the pieces that will be sold. And these items are not limited to gametime wear; the bathing suit and bangles seen below are examples of stylish everday options that will allow ladies to showcase their team spirit at all times.

If the pop-up concept works, the NFL will likely dupicate the boutique in other cities. It's about time.
