Mad Scramble in the Top 25 Rankings

While the top 10 teams in the rankings remained the same, below that there was a lot of movement from last week to this week in the Top 25 poll. The most noticeable difference is the number of teams that dropped out of the top 25. Syracuse was previously ranked 23 and James Madison was 25, but this week neither team was ranked. Two teams made even bigger drops with Arizona State (17) and Pitt (18) both becoming unranked teams this week as well. ASU's movement most likely is a result of their two losses to unranked teams, UCLA and USC. Pitt's drop out of the rankings seemed to also come as a result of two losses, to unranked Duquesne and Marquette.

Texas is our ranking with a bullet this week, as the previously 22-ranked Longhorns moved to the number 15 spot following a win at Miami (FL) and a blow-out of Arkansas-Pine Bluff with a final score of 114-53. Smaller movement included Florida State, LSU, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, Wisconsin-Green Bay, and Michigan State all moving between 1 and 5 spots up or down the rankings.

Lastly, a big welcome to TCU, Kansas, Oklahoma State and Georgia Tech... all previously unranked teams who made an appearance in the Top 25 poll this week.
