This game was nothing like I expected. Yes, I knew Baylor was good. But good enough to hang with Connecticut? To be within 4 points early in the second half? I never would have predicted that.

The Huskies led by 13 at half, but Baylor certainly came to play after halftime. The Bears just couldn’t hold on though. UConn has a level that I feel confident enough to say no one else has. I believe a big part of that is their defense. They contest every shot, every single one.

Caroline Doty and Tiffany Hayes played with four fouls each with just under 10 minutes left. Maya Moore was an incredible leader for her team tonight. She had 34 points, 12 rebounds, only one turnover and no fouls.

Connecticut will go on to face the Stanford Cardinal, aka the last team to beat them… although that was way back in 2008. This Championship Game on Tuesday at 8:30, is the exact game so many people have been waiting for. Stanford is the only team that has had a lead on the Huskies at half. Baylor came close, but a lot of people have stated that if anyone can beat UConn it’s Stanford, I guess we’ll have to see what happens Tuesday night.
