Ski like a girl and love it! How women can take control of their skiing lives

Winning her third consecutive World Cup title in Austria, Vail's Lindsey Vonn said she was spurred on by a remark made by the media. The comment said that Vonn would have an advantage in the speed events because she was carrying additional weight. This likely would offend any woman, but it just made Vonn all the more determined.

"Any time people say stupid things in the media, it always makes me more motivated to try to ski faster," she said. "It's obvious that I am an athlete and not an overweight person, so I thought it was pretty ridiculous. It just added fuel to the fire."

Vonn leads the World Cup overall standings with 694 points. Go Lindsey!

I really liked seeing Vonn stand up for herself (and therefore, women everywhere) regarding these insensitive comments.
