Gym Decisions

Run Girl Run is a blog that covers just about every aspect of health and fitness. While the primary focus is on my trials and tribulations training for various races, I also talk about my favorite types of exercises, experiences from my yoga instructor days and all kinds of nutrition stuff, with the occasional product review sprinkled in. Follow me as I overcome injury, try to balance a social life and beat back laziness to tackle the marathon, half marathon, 5K and every distance in between.

Layout problems:

Sorry for bombarding your Google Readers with random blank never ending posts yesterday. I'm not sure what happened, but when I published yesterday's post on spinning, the software pushed through about five blank posts. I think I finally got them all deleted and hopefully the problem is fixed.

Current workout plan:

As for my current workout plan, I'm still not sure what I want to tackle next. I called one of the local gyms yesterday to ask about spinning classes and prices. They said they have a membership fee for $25 per month, but when I asked about the start up fee, the guy said the lower the monthly fee, the higher the initiation cost. So I'm not sure about that one.

I looked for some smaller gyms that might be able to work something out with me, but didn't find too many.

What I'm thinking about doing is using the free passes to the three local gyms and seeing which one has the best spin classes. From there I'll decide if I want to bite the bullet and pay for a gym or not. Between running and the small (free) fitness center where I live, I've managed to avoid paying for a gym, but I do miss having the option to do classes.

Decisions, decisions.

A lot of gyms love to make the sell. You should try asking for a free trial of the class. (This is for the ones that you don't have a free day pass for.)
