Rip Curl Surf
Mentawais
This month Rip Curl sent Alana and I on a surf trip to the Mentawai's in Indonesia!
Mentawai is a famous surfing destination. It consist of thousands of little islands with tons of good waves. I have been there several times and I always enjoy it.
We met up with two of Australia's best girl surfers Stephanie Gilmore and Tyler Wright and hopped on a boat in Search for good waves for 10 days! We surfed over 10 different surf breaks and got some really fun waves!
Mentawai is gorgeous, I saw the most beautiful ocean blue's I have ever seen! I had a blast with the girls. When we weren't surfing we were training, dancing, watching movies, making music, eating yummy food, or sleeping!
As the trip came to an end we hit a really big storm; It was gnarly! We were heading back to the main port, normally a 10 hour journey, to go to the airport but it was just too stormy. Talk about seasick! Well actually I never did get seasick but a lot of the people on board did. We had to wait out the storm a bit, but we eventually made it back just in time for our flights! I am very grateful to have gone on such a great trip!
