Two teams from Russia, one from Greece and one from Germany with many players from America on their rosters are in the hunt for a place in the Euroleague Women competition next season.
Duke university basketball hall of fame's Sheana Mosch is one of two players in double digits from Nadezhda, Orenburg in their (66-51) victory against Chamique Holdsclaw's K. V. Imperial AEL, a team from Cyprus. However Mosch was outshone by Monique Currie who compiled 30 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals and 2 blocks.
Donnette Snow with 18 points led Dynamo Kursk to victory (76-55) against Municipal Targoviste, Tina Thompson's team.
The surprise result of the quarter-final was that the so far unbeaten team, Dynamo Moscow was eliminated by Sony Athinaikos (66-78). Ruth Riley and Candice Wiggins both play for Athinaikos.
There was disappointment for Temeka Johnson's team USO Mondeville after their first-leg defeat. They were not able to beat at home Saarlouis Royals and hence have not qualified for the semis. They lost (59-67).
The semi-finals take place on March, 11 and 18, 2010:
TV Saarlouis Royals vs. Nadezhda
Dynamo Kursk vs. Sony Athinaikos
