I spent the last weekend in Atlanta in the great company of Dalton Ruer of Cross Training Softball and Barry Lovelace, a strength coach from PA also known as "The King of Core".

It was a great weekend and what made the weekend great was the people I was with.

You see, both Dalton and Barry are extremely passionate people and love what they do. They are giving, full of energy and enthusiastic.

Energy, passion and enthusiasm are contagious. It rubs off on you and other people around.

And our sport is full of these kind of passionate people and that is one of the thing that makes being involved in softball so great.

Softball is volunteer-driven sport. Its entire structure depends on the work of countless and passionate volunteers who love this game and don't count their hours.

And I think we ought to recognize how much being passionate about what you do is an essential element to be happy and successful at what you do.

It always amazes me to see how many people give so much of their time for the benefit of others without ever counting the hours.

There is nothing better than being passionate, excited, and enthusiastic about something.

That's what makes living so extraordinary.

Think about it.
