I recently got a pair of the new PUMA PWR-C 2.10 (FG) soccer shoes in the mail that PUMA themselves sent to me for review. When I first opened the box, I was so excited that I wore them around the house just for fun. Doesn’t everybody else do that? I’ve already used them at the park to play some pick-up, and just last night (Tuesday) for some training, and all I could say is the boot is great.
PUMA is known for making everything they have as stylish as possible. Fashion meets sport at PUMA, and, I must admit, when I first put took them out of the box, the first thing I said was, “Oh they’re pretty!” They are black, silver, and virtual pink, to be exact, and the colors look great together. A PUMA cat on the lateral side of the boot is pink, and a bigger one on the medial side is silver with a pink outline, which looks very nice.
When I put them on, and laced them up, they were probably the most comfortable cleat I have ever put on. “PUMA SpringTech memory foam in the lining and an extra snug fit in the heel” is what makes them so easy and fun to wear. The laces are asymmetrical, and that’s one of the things I like the most about this boot. The laces and tongue do not get in the way, so when you strike the ball, you strike it as clean as possible.
The leather the boot is made of, full grain leather, gives both a good touch on the ball and good control over it. It is very soft, which helps with the breaking-in of the boot. I’ve used them only 3 times since I got them, but they feel just fine already. It is very easy to work with this boot.
I will say, though, be careful if you ever have to walk on cement with these boots. The studs are very slippery on cement, and as I was walking off out practice field to get a drink, I slipped and fell. Being a goalkeeper though, I know how to fall, so I didn’t get hurt. Or maybe I’m just just used to falling…
Anyway, the new PUMA PWR-C 2.10 boot is fantastic. They look great, they feel great, they are lightweight, and you really couldn’t ask for anything more. I highly recommend this boot, especially if you are a striker. Did I mention the price of the boot is also very reasonable? For being a new, top of the line boot, you can buy them for only $100. PUMA has done a great job. They have made a simple, but highly effective boot.
