Basketball is my biggest love but I do love my Yankees too. I went to several games at the old stadium. It's a six hour trip from upstate New York and we would come home right after the game. One game we sat so high in the stands I was actually scared. I told my sister we would get our hotdogs and sit down and not get up until the game was over!

My love of baseball has also taken me to games in San Francisco and Toronto. It was old timers day in San Francisco so I got to see a lot of former players. I have also been to many games in Cooperstown. I have never been to the Hall of Fame induction ceremony but I did get to see a lot of players and get their autographs.

My sister and niece are big Yankee fans along with me but my grandson, Tim, is a Red Sox fan. Not surprisingly we have heated discussions when the two teams play each other. He thinks it is cool that he can talk sports with his Granny. When he was younger and we were in Connecticut for a Pilot Pen tennis match he saw me and said "a grandmother who wears her baseball hat backwards." He thought that was really hip! He thought we were there to play tennis not watch. Oh boy, can you see Sports Granny playing Lindsey Davenport?

My Yankees aren't doing very well this season but I have faith in them. Just give them time. What do you think of Manny? Do you think he should play in the Allstar game? I don't think he deserves to but that is just my opinion. My daughter is always teasing me about sports. She says that in Camden all that comes on TV is sports. But when I was away she watched a five hour marathon game with her Dad. Even forfeiting the Barbra Streisand concert to watch. And I think she enjoyed it!!
