#1 Ranked 115 pounder Megumi Fujii

In breaking news #1 ranked 115 pounder Megumi Fujii will be fighting on June 10 at Bellator's Hollywood, FL card at the Hard Rock Casino. Fujji, who is 19-0 in her career, hasn't been in the states since 2007. An opponent has yet to be named, but we have confirmation that 115 pounder Jessica Aguilar is scheduled to fight on the card, but has yet to have an opponent.

 

Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney also confirmed that a 115 pound women's tournament is in the works for the fall season of Bellator. #1 ranked 125 pounder Rosi Sexton and Elana “Babydoll” Reid are signed with Bellator and are rumored for the tournament.

Christina Domke def. Stephanie Newton via TKO :21 Round 1 at ECO 5 in Baraboo, WI

Ana "India" Maria won over Aline Neri via round 2 TKO at the Haidar Super Fight Vitoria, Brazil May 2

and 

Alexis Davis def. Tonya Evinger by RNC third round at the Raging Wolf in Niagara Falls, NY

Our friends from MMA Rising did an exclusive interview with Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker and got the 4-1-1 on the women's division. In the interview, Coker confirmed that Cyborg Santos will be defending her title at the June 26th Strikeforce card in San Jose, which will feature Fedor verses Fabricio Werdum. A challenger has yet to be named, but Coker says the #5 ranked Hiroko Yamanaka will be getting a shot at Santos eventually.

Also in the interview, he said that #2 ranked Erin Toughill and Strikeforce are working things out and to expect a match featuring her after July.

As for the 135 pound division, Coker said that it is possible the winner of the finals of Freestyle Cage Fighting Grand Prix, which will be between #3 ranked Shayna Baszler and Jan Finney could be facing Strikeforce champion Sarah Kaufman. Coker is also monitoring the match between #2 ranked 135 pounder Roxanne Modafferi, and #3 ranked 125 pounder Tara LaRosa for a possible fight with Kaufman.

As for the proposed tournaments, the 145 pound tournament is off for now, but the 135 pound tournament will happen at the end of summer. Japanese fighters from the Jewel's promotion will be invited to participate, as well as the winner of the Upcoming Glory tournament Maiju Kujala

Greg Jackson MMA in Albuquerque has announced two women's fights for their card at the Isleta Casino and Resort Casino June 5. Angelica Chavez will face Jennifer Berg and Malissa Sherwood will face Julie Kedzie.
