#10 ranked Meisha Tate

In breaking news, the Strikeforce 135 pound tournament is now official set. #2 ranked 125 pounder Carina Damm joins #6 ranked  Hitomi Akano, Upcoming Glory tournament winner Maiju Kujala & #10 ranked Miesha Tate as the four women vying for the 135 pound title shot on Aug. 13 in Phoenix, AZ according to MMA Rising. #2 ranked 145 pounder  Marloes Coenen has drop out of the tournament for an unknown reason. This will be a one night tournament, with the semi-finals on the preliminary card, and the finals on the televised card. The match-ups will be made via random draw at weigh-ins the night before the card. The winner will face whoever is the champion at an upcoming Strikeforce card in the fall or spring.

#7 ranked Shana Olsen

Several sources close to Fightergirls are saying that  Erin Toughill will be facing #7 ranked 145 pounder Shana Olsen at Strikeforce Houston Aug. 21. The formerly #2 ranked Toughill is set to get a shot at 145 pound champ Cyborg Santos this fall, and if Olsen is able to upset Toughill, she maybe taking her place. The official announcement will be made this Tuesday at a press conference in Houston. It is unknown if the match will be televised.

Valerie Coolbaugh defeats Patricia Vidonic via unanimous decision at the UCS: Caged Combat in Oregon

The second set of matches for the Bellator 115 pound tournmanet has been set. #5 ranked 125 pounder  Aisling Daly will face #4 ranked 115 pounder  Lisa Ward plus #3 ranked 125 pounder  Zoila Frausto will face #5 ranked 125 pounder  Jessica Pene in Chicago on Aug. 19.

#5 ranked Lisa Ward

"I have more power than (Aisling Daly) has ever bullied around before. She has a great record but she has never faced anyone of my caliber," stated Lisa Ward this week in our forums. “I think this will be an awesome fight and I look forward to it.”

This Saturday Rocky Mountain Bad Boyz and No Mercy Extreme Fighting present their Ladies’ Night mma card in Castlerock, CO. There will be ten amateur female fights on the card, plus three pro fights, which will include -

Amy "Lil Dynamite" Davis vs Jen "Ice" Berg

Lacey Schuckman vs Carla Esparza

and

Angela Hayes vs Angela Samaro
