Ashlyn Harris, the USWNT’s Next #1 Goalkeeper?

Harris started her career at the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill in 2005. In her first few years she suffered from 2 ACL tears and an injury to her thumb which prevented her from playing in any games. After recovery, she joined the team on the field and took home three national titles. She was also named to the ACC All-Academic Team as a sophomore and junior. Harris was namedaNSCAA All-America and was four times and was the NSCAA Player of the Year in 2004. In 2010 she was drafted in the second round, as the 19th pick, to the WPS team, the St. Louis Athletic, where she played backup for Hope Solo. In 2011 she joined the Western New York Flash and was part of the WPS Championship team in 2011.
