Sarah Hendrickson, 17, wins first U.S. National Ski Jumping title

Hendrickson is a professional ski jumper. She made history by being the youngest nordic skiier to join the U.S. Ski Team. In 2008, she took second at the U.S. Ski Jumping Championships, surprising all the veteran jumpers. She continued to make history in 2010 when she competed in the Junior World Championships. There she took home bronze and became the first American ever to win a medal at the games. In October, 2011 she took gold at the US National Ski Jumping Championships. She is training to compete in the 2014 Olympics where ski jumping will, for the first time, be an event for women.
