Notre Dames Big Stars and Big Plays Too Much For St. Johns

Peters is a stand out basketball player. In high school she was ranked #12 for forwards by Hoopgurlz.com. She was also a McDonald's All-american, Parade Magazine Third-Team All-American and was named Most Outstanding Player of 2007 at the Illinois Class 2A Tournament.

She decided to take her talents to Notre Dame. She played in 23 games during her freshman season. In February, Peters tore her ACL. She underwent surgery in April. During the 2008/2009 season, she played three games before tearing her ACL once again, ultimately ending her season. Having competed in less than 30% of the season, she was able to salavage her eligibility. She underwent a second and third surgery in February and May. As a junior she played in 25 games despite starting the season late to finish up her knee rehabilitation. During the 2011 summer, Peters joined USA Basketball at the USA World University Games. During the 2010/2011 season, Peters tied the school record for most starts in a season (39). She lead the team in rebounding, blocks, field goal percentage, and double-doubles. Peters is back for her final season with the Fighting Irish.
