Smock is a professional jumper. She specializes in the triple jump. Smock competed at North Dakota State, a Division II institution. While at NDS, she took home three NCAA national titles.

She had a solid 2011 season. Smock finished 2nd overall at the Indoor Championships. She followed up this great finish by winning the outdoor title. She again showed her talents at the 2012 Indoor Championships when she took home gold.

She placed first in the 2012 Olympic Trials. She was the only athlete in the field to hit the "A" standard. She will solely represent the U.S. in the triple jump in London.
