Wambach is an Olympic medalist, multi-time US Soccer Athlete of the Year Award winner, and World Cup Team member.

Wambach attended the University of Florida where she achieved her All-American status and conference player of the year. After graduation, Wambach joined the WUSA playing for the Washington Freedom. She competed in the 2004 Olympic games, helping the USA take home the gold. She is a four time winner of the U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year Award (2003, 2004, 2007, 2010). She is a member of the 2011 World Cup Team.
