Molly Huddle wins USA 5 km Championships

Huddle went to Notre Dame High School where she won several track and field and cross country state championships. She was the only member of her high school cross country team.

Huddle went on to the University of Notre Dame where she was a 9-time All-American. She turned pro after graduation. In 2010, at the Memorial Van Damme Diamond League meet, Huddle took the 5k American record in the time of 14:44.76. 

In 2011, she placed second at the USA Cross Country Championships and went on to help the U.S. team take home a bronze medal at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships. During the 2011 track season, she won a USA title in the 5,000m. Despite being injured, Huddle ran the World Championships but was unable to make it out of round one.

In 2012, Huddle took home silver at the USA Cross Country Championships. During the outdoor track season, she placed second in the 5,000m at the Olympic Trials, earing a spot on her first Olympic Team.

She currently trains with a group of women in Providence, coached by Ray Treacy. She is sponsored by Saucony.
