Decanation is an annual track & field event held (traditionally) in Paris. Originally, the idea was for the 10 events of the decathlon to be held, with each country sending one athlete to compete in their event, and the points to be totaled from all 10 events to determine the winning team. In recent years, the events have changed to accommodate the competing countries in terms of the athlete pool they had to choose from so late in the season. 

This year, the meet will be held at the Parc Des Sports Stadium in Annecy, France. The following events will be held:

1. 100m
2. 400m
3. 800m
4. 1500m
5. 100m hurdles (women)/110m hurdles (men)
6. 3000m steeplechase
7. Women's High Jump
8. Men's Pole Vault
9. Long Jump
10. Men's Shot Put
11. Hammer Throw

So that's technically 9 women's events and 9 men's events.
