14th Annual International Ice Hockey Federation Women's World Championships Date: April 7 - 14, 2012
Venue: University of Vermont Gutterson Fieldhouse

Women are taking to the ice in Vermont with the start of the 14th annual International Ice Hockey Federation’s women’s world championships.
Games begin Saturday, April 7, 2012, at the University of Vermont’s Gutterson Fieldhouse. Teams from the U.S., Canada, Russia, Finland, Germany, Switzerland, Slovakia and Sweden are competing.
Games continue throughout the coming week, with the championship game being played next Saturday.
Canada and the U.S. are the favorites in the tournament. Canada has won nine of the previous championships, with the U.S. taking gold four times.
