There’s just something about watching a marathon on TV. At least for me there is. Seeing the crowds get into it, seeing the high-fives, the hugs, the tears and the determination on every one’s face. It’s such a great feeling to know that I have completed a marathon and to watch these people push their bodies to the limit on an incredibly tough course, that they’ve worked so hard to get there, it amazing. It makes me want to reach for the credit cards and sign up for another one. I’m restraining myself this time though, but cheering with all my might for those who are running Boston, including Aron, Page, Sarah and many others who don’t have blogs, like my running sister, Andrea and another friend Sara! I wish them all the best and for speedy legs as the travel through the hills and landmarks that the Boston Marathon brings with each step.
There’s just something crazy about seeing everyone pushing towards the same goal together. I love seeing that. Even when I am working a race, just seeing everyone working so hard to get to the finish is amazing. It gives you a whole new perspective on running and racing. I didn’t want to get up and run this morning, but I knew I wouldn’t regret it and I definitely don’t. I always forget how awesome I feel all day when I work out early in the morning and I just need to remind myself of that when I hit snooze over and over!
Though I’ve never been to Boston, right now it’s just not in my heart to train for that. I feel like once I got my sub 4:00 marathon and had the best race of my life, I’m pretty content with that. Maybe it will come with time, but I know the people who do get there do it with a LOT of heart! I am so proud to know so many people who have that determination and get there. It’s awesome to be surrounded by such a great community of running friends. So run fast, inspire many and enjoy Boston everyone!
xoxo
