The 2nd professional female MMA fight in Massachusetts took place tonight November 12th at Victory Promotions: “Clementi vs Rogers” at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts.
The featured bout was between Katie Merrill from Wai Kru and Kaline Medeiros from Tim Gillett’s.
Merrill and Medeiros are no strangers to each other having fought their first amateur fight in January 2010 with Medeiros winning by decision. Their second match was in March 2011 at the “Rumble in the Jungle” in Plymouth, Massachusetts earning Merrill the victory that night via a rear-naked choke at 1:51 of the first round.
Tonight they met as pro's in a rubber match. Medeiros (0-1) made her pro debut last May, losing against Marianna Kheyfets via a triangle choke in the third round. This fight would be Merrill's (0-0) pro debut, after a couple earlier unsuccessful attempts to have an opponent make it to the cage without injury before the fight to take her on.
Mederios danced out to the cage completely energized while Merrill walked out with confidence. For the Full Article click here
