Hey everyone!
I just wanted to update you all how things are going for me. I wrapped up my indoor season after competing at the Tyson Invitational and as usual, it was a great meet. As I sat down getting ready to warm up there, I reminisced on the years in college I competed there leading up to the present time. I truly realized just how blessed I was to have the opportunity to compete there again. I feel really good about this year’s indoor season because I accomplished everything that I set out to do and took some key things away from the competitions to work on in training. U.S. Nationals are this weekend in Albuquerque and I’m sure there will be some great performances and races there so be sure to tune in and check it out because I know I’ll be watching.
Training is going really well so far. I feel great and look forward to each workout because I know that each one gets me closer and closer to my goals. Not to mention the fact that we are averaging between 65-75 degrees everyday!!!!! Sometimes it’s a little breezy, but pleeeease believe I will take that any day over the teens we were experiencing. One Monday we had a crazy hard workout and toward the middle of the workout the temperature dropped. Now when I say dropped I mean a MAJOR drop. All I remember is taking my recovery walk and as I got closer to the line I realized it was SNOWING!! We all laughed at the fact that in about four months in will be well over 100 degrees – the exact opposite of the crazy winter weather we were experiencing.
Today is my off day so I have a fun filled day of massage, physical therapy and relaxation. Taking care of my body is going to be a huge key in my march towards Daegu this summer so I just love Wednesdays. It gives me the chance to unwind a little and gears me up to complete my week! Not to mention the fact that I LOVE MY MEDICAL GROUP!!! They’re the best and I appreciate them so much!
I’m looking forward to the upcoming outdoor season and plan to start off running a few fun relays in March and April. I love this time of year because I get some really good workouts in through competitions and it’s a ton of fun getting to compete with the other ladies from across the country. It’s all a building process and I love every minute of it. I will be sure to keep you updated on my intended schedule and you can always find the most up to date version of that schedule here on my website.
Thank you so much for all of your support! Please know that even though I can’t always I read every Facebook, Twitter, BBM and text message and they mean more to me than you will ever know. Once again be sure to tune in and watch the U.S. Indoor Championships on Sunday, February 27th from 4:30pm to 6 pm EST on ESPN. Continue to support Track and Field and I’ll catch up with you soon!
