A blog that addresses the tough questions in sport that are important to women and girls.

The inaugural world championships for young female wheelchair basketball players will take place from July 15-21 at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. The tournament will feature teams from eight nations: Canada, Australia, Germany, Great Britain, Japan, Mexico, South Africa and the United States. Two teams, Brazil and the Netherlands recently withdrew from the tournament.

Director of Wheelchair Basketball Canada, Wendy Gittens, stated that "Working closely with Brock University plans are well underway to ensure the eight participating teams will have the opportunity to play, train, and compete in a world class tournament while enjoying a once in a liftetime experience."

The international event will provide unique and unforgettable experiences for young female wheelchair basketball athletes from all of the nations that are participating. It will also be a great event for those in the St. Catharines area that are interested in getting involved in the sport as an athlete, volunteer or fan.
