The NCAA recently released its Race and Gender Demographics Report for 2009-10, which measures annually the composition of NCAA member institutions’ administrative and coaching staffs. The report shows significant increases in the number of administrative personnel in the last 15 years, primarily because of increases in NCAA membership and expanding staffs at individual schools.

Diversity and equity are core values of NACWAA and our members. We embrace women of every race, color, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, age and ability. We believe in equal opportunity for women in all areas and that equality for women in athletics is imperative. As advocates for women in the profession, our primary goal is to advance qualified women into positions of influence within intercollegiate athletics, including but not limited to, athletic directors and conference commissioners. While we recognize that progress has been made in the last 10-15 years to increase leadership opportunities for women in intercollegiate athletics, there is more work to be done.
