  • Tony Hawk, THE Entrepreneur: As one of the most well-known skateboarding figures and the highest paid athlete in action sports with his pay stub checking in last year at $12million, Tony Hawk has made quite the name for himself. In a recent interview with Entrepreneur, Tony talks about skateboarding, how he got into the action sports industry, and how he built an entire empire from the ground up, more or less making the sport what it is today.
  • A Heating Wet Suit? Listen up Pac NW’ers - your prayers have finally been answered. Rip Curl recently launched the first ever heating wet suit, a technology they’ve been working on perfecting for nearly ten years. I was in Rip Curl then other day and learned all about it (it’s pretty sick) but the folks at Transworld actually got a chance to demo it, and their sentiments definitely echoed what the Rip Curl sales rep told me. Unfortunately for me, I will probably never see the day in SoCal where I will actually need this, but definitely a cool thing to have if you plan to venture out into the Oregon waves anytime soon.
  • Contest - Star in a Nikita Catalog: This month, Nikita is hosting a photo shoot contest, where you could win a trip to New Orleans to be featured in Nikita’s new streetwear catalog. To enter, either as a photographer or as a model, send a few photos to [email protected] before Oct. 12, 2009. One photographer will be selected, and two models, and the shoot will take place Oct. 28 - Nov. 2.
