Sunday Oct. 23, 2011: The U.S.A Olympic National Team has done it again! They beat Canada in the gold medal game with a score of 11-1 in just four innings. With Cuba taking the bronze.

Allowing only 8 runs in 9 appearances of the Pan American Games. These 17 athletes are either still playing in college or have been removed by only two years. This experience was their first visit to the Pan Am games. There were no olympic verterans on the team and they still dominated the competition with only 2 of the 9 games playing a full 7 innings because of the run rule. They outscored their opponents by 78 runs. What an amazing performance by these young ladies showing that America is still the dominating force in this sport for the world. At the time of this post U.S.A as a country has won 142 medals (52 gold) to the next country Brazil's 59. Wouldn't you say we are beating everyone in almost every sport at the Pan Am games?

For most athletes, the Pan Am games are a preperation for this years 2012 Olympics in London. But for the Olympic softball team, they will take their well deserved gold medal's and prepare for the World Cup of Softball in July, followed by the ISF XIII Women’s World Championship in Canada this summer.

After these showcases, all the U.S.A. softball team can do is hope that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) comes to their senses and re-instates softball as an Olympic Sport for future Olympics. Softball meets all of the qualifications of being an olympic sport, so why would it even be thought of to be exstingished? Yes, it's a very good chance that the U.S. will win every olympic softball gold medal game. But, that is no reason to take the sport that so many support and love out of view of the worlds eyes. We have sent our top players to other countries to teach them how to play more fundamentally. We are showing them ways to beat us so that the games can become more competitive. So, you are going to tell me that handball, curling and the riveting sport of badminton are more exciting than softball? There is a petition going around for fans to sign showing their support. If you agree with this cause go to the petition and get softball back in the olympics. You will also be joining the 69495 thousand people who already have.
