God and Country Logowounded warrior team

A Hero is not a word that is easily tossed around. They are people of distinguished courage or ability, admired for their brave actions. Our Heroes in the military are not always talked about on the news or in daily conversations. These men and women put their lives on the line for our Freedom.

There is a team of Heroes who bravely served their Country in all branches of the military. These men lost limbs while deployed overseas. They have been through extensive rehabilitation and have learned to adapt their daily routines with the use of prosthetic's.

Most people would feel trapped and helpless by the limits of these injuries. But rememeber, these are our Heroes, strong willed, never give up, mentally tough young men who aren't going to accept less. These men instead, overcame their limits and joined a group called The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST).

This team's motto is "Life Without a Limb is Limitless". They are made up of veterans and active duty soldiers whom had to be amputated during fighting in Operation Iraqi Freedom. They tour the country playing in exhibition games as a reminder to all of us of the sacrafices made for our Country. We need to keep supporting our soldiers! They are an inspiration to everyone, they show us that with hardwork, mental toughness and support you can overcome any challange placed before you.

The first big game on their tour is against Fellowship of Christan Athletes All-Stars. Softball greats and Olympic champions such as Dot Richardson, Jennie Finch, and Leah O'Brian Amico. 10,000 people are expected to attend. The benefit is called God and Country. Go to the FCA website and get your tickets for this game January 13th and 14th 2012 in Plant City, Florida to show your support. It is sure to be an an inspirational and uplifting evening.
