Triathlons from a girl's perspective. I love to run and a few years ago I found myself cycling and learning how to swim. Thus, I am now an obsessed triathlete.

I am a sucker for marketing schemes. I'll admit it! I would love to buy a fancy new car every 3 years, even though common sense clearly says cars are built and designed to last 8-10 years. Have you seen my shoe drawer at work? My manager teases me about the endless pairs I have here, all because they look good, not for functionality. I will even admit that I'm more inclined to get a hot beverage in the morning when the cups are "cute" or "seasonal". Sick I know.

Today takes the cake.

Preston has been asking for this one for a while. I should admit though, that I started it myself. I read about the Trans Rockies run sometime in late '07. Now that Preston is on his uber-trek to become an ultra runner over the next year, he's latched onto the idea of strolling through the rockies for 113 miles over 6 days. So be careful what you ask for!

Today I receive the email newsletter (I should've never signed up for the list) from the TR peeps. Headline announcing: ONLY 50 SPOTS REMAIN!

Oh dear. I hadn't anticipated confirming my entry until I was much deeper into Ironman training and had a better gauge of my season. But damn that marketing ploy!

We are now confirmed runners in the 2009 Trans Rockies run. More to come, I'm sure.
