Tulsa Shock Suffer 20th Consecutive Loss With Poor Third Quarter Performance

Throughout last season, the Tulsa Shock had this bizarre problem of repeatedly coming out and playing terribly in the third quarter. It got so bad that Jessica Lantz even suggested that third quarters be banned or renamed in Tulsa. It might be time to revive - or actually build - that movement now.

In the Shock's 74-57 loss to the Seattle Storm tonight, they allowed a 50% free throw rate and 70% 2-point shooting to contribute to a 62.5% effective field goal percentage. Even if you attribute the free throw issue to poor officiating, against a team that sometimes struggles to get to the line, the Shock let the Storm get to the basket for layups or free throws far too easily to win at KeyArena.
