In keeping with SB Nation’s innovative use of social media in reshaping sports journalism, our vision is a women's basketball site that goes beyond merely providing game reports; instead, we want to capture the narratives that fuel our passion for the game, while maintaining the critical stance that helps us understand the game better.

Questions follow the jump.

Last season the Scarlet Knights finished 20-13 (11-5 Big East) and were eliminated by eventual national champion Texas A & M in the tournament's second round.

Among the Rutgers group - from the staff right down to the players - there is a sense of excitement and eagerness, to build on what was learned from last season, improve on last and hopefully extend another NCAA trip a bit farther.

SA : What are your feelings about all the discussions of realignment these days ?

CVS : "There is always uncertainty when you have these daily reports and rumors about realignment. It's not a comfortable place to be . My feeling is, as all this goes on, just control what you can control, handling your team on a daily basis."

SA : How do prospects look for the current season ?

CVS : "We lost our top rebounder (Chelsey Lee at 7.5 RPG) but we have been working hard in anticipation of a great season. So far this group has worked hard and just is a delight to coach and work with."

SA : Have there been any surprises, regarding individual players, in practices. Especially among the newcomers ?

CVS : "All (the new players) have been. All the new players have adapted. They have taken to the coaching and push themselves (in practice) everyday. There are no complaints at all. They are proud to be Scarlet Knights They just want to get out there and play."

Those freshman, Stringer speaks so highly of include : 5-9 G Bryona Canty (Willingboro, NJ), 5-7 G Syessence Davis (Neptune, NJ), 6-3 C Christa Evans (Jackson, NJ) and 6-0 SWG Betnijah Laney (Clayton, Delaware).
