Notre Dame Knocks of Connecticut in Day Full of Upsets
There were quite a few upsets out of the Top 25 polls today, starting near the top of the list. It took #3 Notre Dame an overtime period to top #2 Connecticut 74-67. Skylar Diggins poured in 22 points and Natalie Novosel added 20 to hand the Huskies their first loss in conference play since 2008.
#8/11 Ohio State was upended by rival Michigan in a 73-62 affair to give the Buckeyes their first loss. #18/20 DePaul fell to Providence 60-52 and Michigan State handled #19/22 Penn State 75-65. Rounding out the losses by ranked teams, Oklahoma State dominated #23/25 Texas 70-51 in Stillwater on Saturday.
