In keeping with SB Nation’s innovative use of social media in reshaping sports journalism, our vision is a women's basketball site that goes beyond merely providing game reports; instead, we want to capture the narratives that fuel our passion for the game, while maintaining the critical stance that helps us understand the game better.

Yesterday saw the first 16 games of the tournament go primarily by way of the committee's seedings, save the No. 11 seed Gonzaga advancing over No. 6 Rutgers in the Kingston, R.I. Region. This game - a home contest for the hosting Bulldogs - proved to be the only upset on the first day of action. Today also marks the first time to see the Baylor Lady Bears, the prohibitive favorite, take the court. The first round of the 2012 NCAA women's basketball tournament concludes today with the remaining 16 games on tap. As with yesterday, the television coverage on ESPN2 is of the whip-around variety, but you can watch the game of your choosing online at ESPN3.
