The class on 2012 women's basketball AP All-Americans has been announced today. Headlining the list is some stars you'd expect to see, with the first team honors going to Brittney Griner (Baylor), Nneka Ogwumike (Stanford), Skylar Diggins (Notre Dame), Alyssa Thomas (Maryland) and Elena Delle Donne (Delaware). Griner and Ogwumike were unanimous selections in the voting.

Interestingly, four of the five first-teamers are still dancing, with only Delaware's Delle Donne getting knocked out of this year's tournament early. According to Yahoo, this is just the third time that no Tennessee or Connecticut women dot the first team roster since 1995 when the AP All-American team was first instituted.

The second team is headlined by the younger Ogwumike, Chiney - the second piece of the powerful Stanford sister act. Joining her is Odyssey Sims (Baylor), Shenise Johnson (Miami), Samantha Prahalis (Ohio State) and Julie Wotja (Wisconsin-Green Bay). The Ogwumike sisters are the first pair of siblings to both be honored as All-Americans in the same season.

The first sighting of Huskies and Lady Vols is on the third team with Tiffany Hayes (Connecticut) and Shekinna Stricklen (Tennessee) making their way to the All-American team. Also earning third-team honors are A’dia Mathies (Kentucky), Elizabeth Williams (Duke) and Riquna Williams (Miami). Elizabeth Williams is the sole freshman to be honored.
