In keeping with SB Nation’s innovative use of social media in reshaping sports journalism, our vision is a women's basketball site that goes beyond merely providing game reports; instead, we want to capture the narratives that fuel our passion for the game, while maintaining the critical stance that helps us understand the game better.

The Sun (9-24) only had seven players dressed for the game and were defeated soundly by the Mystics (16-17).  Ivory Latta led the way with 19 points and five assists and had five three pointers.  Tayler Hill tied her career high with 16 points and made four three point shots, continuing her recent stretch of improved play.  In addition to Monique Currie who had 13 points and three made three point shots, the Mystics had an all-time franchise high of 12 made three point shots in the game.

Coach Thibault still believes that the team is in a "learning project phase" despite the win.  And he also believes that Hill's "maturation" is coming around.  Either way in the press conference, he believes that DC must be a balanced team in the Playoffs, and I too agree with that assessment, assuming the Mystics do manage to pull off a first round victory.

The Mystics' last regular season game is against the New York Liberty this Sunday, September 15, at 4:00 PM ET at Verizon Center.
