The Sky has a wire-to-wire win over the Mystics, and it shows that this team won't bow out of the playoff picture quietly.
Elena Delle Donne scored 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including making 3-of-4 from the three point line to lead the Chicago Sky to a 76-65 win over the Washington Mystics where they always led.
In addition, Sylvia Fowles scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the win, while Jamierra Faulkner scored 10 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and dished 5 assists.
The deciding factor for the game was turnovers. The Mystics committed 19 of them, while the Sky committed 9 on their end. In the first quarter, the Mystics committed six turnovers which turned into four Sky points. They were never able to get rid of that bug.
The Mystics after winning six of eight games between July 5 and July 27 have now lost two straight, and it doesn't appear that they have been playing the same way as they did up to that point. Their next game is against the New York Liberty at home on Tuesday, and they certainly don't want to get into a deeper hole.
Chicago has now won two straight games after the return of their sophomore superstar. Four of the Sky's next five games are on the road, including a match against the Minnesota Lynx, so it's definitely welcome news to see that Delle Donne will be back for that time.
