Kris Habbas of SB Nation's Bright Side of the Sun summarized Game 2 of the 2014 WNBA Finals and actually writes that the focus on the team's defense might be overshadowing how good they've been offensively, including Diana Taurasi adding to her already outstanding legacy in the WNBA.

Diana Taurasi is leading the charge with 18.5 points (60% field goal) and 7.0 assists a game here in the Finals, but it is the balance that has made this team impossible for the Sky to figure out...As an individual, Taurasi is 12 points away from tying Deanna Nolan (256 points) for the most points in WNBA Finals History. For the team, a win by 18 or more points would give them the largest margin of victory for a team in a single playoffs. The current record, 15.4 points per game by the 2013 Minnesota Lynx is just higher than this years Mercury margin of victory, which is 15.0 points per game.

It would seem that the only way that Taurasi doesn't overtake Deanna Nolan at this point is if she gets in early foul trouble in Game 3 and the Mercury get up by 30 at halftime, negating the need for her to play much more.
