When you’re dealing with thousandths of seconds in this sport, it’s the tiniest details that set the best apart from the rest.
Megan Yurko and her mare, Beea Stash of Money, have proven that they’ve got what it takes to be a part of Team East USA for the WBRC, and it’s the details she has down that put her in this elite group. At the bottom of this post, check out a video of Megan and Beea tearing it up at a West Virginia High School Rodeo.
What bit do you run your horse in?
I either use a combination or jr. cowhorse bit.
What headgear (if any) do you use?
When I first started racing Beea we used a tiedown but I haven’t used it on her lately.
What saddle and saddle pad do you run in?
I just started riding in an older Bob Marshall and Beea really seems to like it and I use a 5-Star pad.
What tuning does your horse need throughout the week?
I am at the barn everyday after school with my horses and I have learned with Beea the less tuning the better so we do a lot of trail riding, flexing, we play with the large horse ball and just try to have fun together during the week.
What are your personal goals for 2011?
My goals for 2011 are to continue getting straight A’s, focus on IPRA rodeos and even maybe try for rookie of the year. I am also going to focus on my new 5 yr. old filly NNN Baby Got Back by Deep Sixum out of Never Been Asked.
