Joanna HayesJoanna Hayes shocked everyone but herself when she won gold at the 2004 Olympics in Athens in the 100m hurdles, setting an Olympic record of 12.37. At the 2011 Gatorade High School Athlete of the Year banquet in Hollywood, California, she talked about believing in herself until she achieved her dream, as well as what environment her daughter will grow up in and the wealth of opportunities and support she will have as a woman and as an athlete.
