Angela Ruggiero announces her retirement from the U.S. Women's National Team today.

Ruggeiro made her first appearance with USA in 1998. She's helped her country win 4 olympic medals (gold in '98, bronze in '06 and silver in '08 and '10).

In 2004, Ruggiero joined the Central Hockey League (CHL), marking the first time a woman played in a regular season professional hockey game in the United Stated in a position other than goalie. Her younger brother Bill also played with her. 

Off the rink, Angela wrote a memoir Breaking the Ice: My Journey to Olympic Hockey. She was also a participant on NBC's hit show The Apprentice in 2006.
