Akron, OH – June 14, 2014 - Akron Racers jumped out to an early lead on PA Rebellion and captured an 18-2 victory on Saturday at Akron, OH.
Five runs in the first three innings allowed Akron Racers to put the game away early.
A single by Kelley Montalvo and an RBI single by Ashley Thomas in the second inning fueled Akron Racers' offense early.
Akron Racers hit three home runs in the win. Home runs for Akron Racers came when Haley Outon homered in the third inning, Ashley homered in the fourth inning, and Jill Barrett homered in the fourth inning.
Outon racked up five RBIs on three hits for Akron Racers. She homered in the third inning and singled in the fifth and sixth innings.
Akron Racers relied on Hannah Campbell to eat up innings en route to the win. Campbell allowed two earned runs, six hits and one walk while striking out two over seven innings of work.
Angel Bunner took the loss for PA Rebellion. She allowed seven runs in three innings, walked one and struck out three.
After posting three runs in the third, Akron Racers again scored three in the fourth. In the third, Akron Racers scored on a three-run home run by Outon, plating Taylor Schlopy and Nerissa Myers.
Akron Racers scored on a solo home run by Thomas and a two-run home run by Barrett.
