2010 NCAA DI Outdoor Track & Field Championships

The NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships start today and run through Saturday, June 12th, at historic Hayward Field in Tracktown USA, also known as Eugene, Oregon.

For DAY 1 (Wednesday), here is your schedule of events:

Womens Heptathlon

Starting at 1:00pm:

100 Meter Hurdles

High Jump

Shot Put

200 Meter Dash

Preview and Start List by TrackFocus.com:

The heptathlon looks to be a duel between Brianne Theisen of Oregon and Clemson’s Liane Weber. Their 2010 best efforts are only separated by 14 points and no other competitor is within 200 points. Given that she’s the defending champ and will have the Hayward faithful on her side, we’re giving the advantage to Theisen for the title. Her potential 10 points will be needed as the Ducks challenge for the team title.

Lisa KollLisa Koll is a heavy favorite, having set the NCAA record this year in 31:18.07 at the Stanford Invitational. That time is more than 70 seconds ahead of the next fastest woman in the field!

Also watch out for Nicole Blood, who is taking on the grueling 10K/5K double in order to score big points or Oregon, who will be in a tight race with Texas A&M; for the team title.
