Jess Philippus was called out by Sarah Goodlaxson last spring when Philippus was 1-1 and Goodlaxson was 2-2. Philippus wanted to get a few more fights under her belt. Then they had problems finding a card to fight on. Now, Philippus is 5 and 1, Goodlaxson is still 2 and 2, but both women are ready to go tonight at Blue Corner Fights at Harrah's Casino in Kansas City.
I caught up with Jess last night after weigh-ins. She said the cut was easier than usual because she's had the flu this week. But she seems to be feeling better and is eager to get in the cage.
